Once Keratoconus is diagnosed and documented as progressive, we offer C3R (Corneal Collagen Cross-linking with Riboflavin). This is a non-invasive localized treatment designed to strengthen the corneal tissue and halt the bulging. During the procedure, specialized Riboflavin (Vitamin B2) drops are applied to the cornea, which is then activated by a controlled dose of Ultraviolet-A (UVA) light. This interaction creates new “cross-links” between the collagen fibers, increasing the mechanical strength of the cornea and preventing further vision deterioration.

Following the treatment, many patients continue to achieve excellent vision through specialized contact lenses, such as Scleral or Rose-K lenses, which provide a smooth optical surface over the irregular cornea.
